Kings and Queens

New Single ‘Jericho’

Normally based in Western Australia, the duo Kings and Queens formed in 2016. Comprising Richard Glover (Vocalist, Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin, Percussion) and Kaleisha Dutton (Vocalist, Mandolin, Violin, Percussion, Guitar) provide a nice balance between Americana and folk music.

The couple moved to the UK last December (Richard is originally from Manchester and Kaleisha is an Australian) to spend time with his family and promote themselves in the folk scene over there. Like most places, the UK live music scene is desolated, so the duo is using the time to work on a follow-up album to their self-titled 2017 release.

The latest single “Jericho” has just been released – see below. According to the pair “it is a song about the collapse of an empire and a tyrant who sees his world fall. On a literal sense it was inspired by the Biblical story, however there are themes and metaphors which are much better suited for today’s world leaders as they slowly plunge us into disaster!”

Kings and Queens have played across Australia and the UK, featuring at many festivals, including Fairbridge Festival and have supported Daniel Champagne, Edgelarks and the late Justin Townes Earle.
