Mountaingrass 2025

14 to 16 November

Bright, Victoria

MountainGrass is an intimate, friendly and engaging bluegrass and old-time music event held over three days every November.

It is organised by the enthusiastic ABOTMA committee (Australasian Bluegrass and Old-time Music Association). In 2025, Mountaingrass will be held from 14 to 16 November and return to the picturesque alpine village of Bright in north-east Victoria (it very successfully debuted there last year after stints in Beechworth and Harrietville).

Mountaingrass showcases some of the best bluegrass and old-time musicians from Australia and beyond. It features concerts, jam sessions, workshops and plenty of opportunities to meet and play with fellow music lovers. Headline acts this year include Mike Compton & Laura Boosinger (USA), The Tone Rangers (Canada), Moranz & Fremlin (Canada) and Honeywell & Foreman (USA/UK).

Held in the heart of Bright – a scenic holiday town in Victoria’s Alpine region – the event spans three central venues: Bright Community Hall, Senior Citizens Centre and the Courthouse Theatre, all within a stone’s throw of each other, all nestled in the town, making it easy to get to as many sets as possible.
