In November 2022, Charley Crockett played his first-ever show at the fabled Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville, Tennessee, which was a 2,500-strong sellout.
Crockett will release Live from the Ryman on September 29 this year, a document of that celebratory evening (via Son of Davy/Thirty Tigers). The full show will be available as an album as well as a beautifully-shot concert film. Crockett and his ace band pulled from Crockett’s deep catalogue – twelve albums and counting – and mixed in covers from George Jones, James “Slim” Hand, Jerry Reed, T-Bone Walker and Townes Van Zandt.

Crockett released his previous full-length album The Man From Waco (read our review), which clearly built on the momentum of multiple, high-quality releases. Further, over three months earlier this year, Crockett made his NPR Tiny Desk debut, appeared on The Daily Show and was featured on the cover of Texas Monthly. Add to that, Crockett performed at both nights of Willie Nelson’s 90th birthday celebration at the Hollywood Bowl in April, and made his Bonnaroo festival debut as well!
Crockett will head out next month on his latest headline tour of Europe and the UK and will spend most of October as direct support for Chris Stapleton at arenas and outdoor amphitheatres. For a full list of tour dates, head to the link below.
Crockett has received 2023 Americana Honors & Awards nominations for Artist of the Year, Album of the Year (for The Man From Waco) and Song of the Year (for “I’m Just A Clown”), tied with Margo Price for most nominations this year. Winners will be announced at the 2023 Americana Honors & Awards ceremony at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN on September 20 (Listening Through The Lens will be there!).
