Eilen Jewell Releases Second Single “Lethal Love”

From The Album ‘Get Behind The Wheel’

Out May 5, 2023

“There’s nothing darker and more depraved in all of creation than love’s shadow side.

A dangerous carnival of hungry ghosts, a Pandora’s box full of eternal craving, inhabited by trapped, debauched spirits playing deadly games for the hell of it. But this song is an ode, not a dirge. Why not celebrate that dark side? It’s not going anywhere, so we might as well enjoy it.”

This is the pin-point background to Eilen Jewel’s latest single, the flamenco-tinged “Lethal Love”. This is the second release from Get Behind The Wheel, her ninth studio album (out on May 5 via Signature Sounds) in what has been a gloriously consistent recording career, straddling country, blues and swing. In this latest offering, Jewell chronicles the last few years of her life, reportedly a no-frills album and frank account.

Jewell just wrapped up a successful month-long tour in Australia (Listening Through The Lens caught her at Port Fairy Folk Festival 2023) and will be back on the road in April and May for a string of dates in the USA. A full list of tour dates can be found below via the link below.

The latest song follows on from the new album’s first single “Crooked River”.
