Listening Through The Rear-View Mirror

# 7 Michael Hurley and Darren Hanlon

Introduction

Yes folks, the world is in a place in 2020 that no-one would have believed.

Other than the pages of a fictional book where a-pandemic-attacks-the-world-forcing-us-to-be-in-lockdown-shutting-our-borders-and-generally-feeling-jittery, how did this predicament happen so quickly and decisively??

It is hard to think of an industry which is more adversely affected and can least afford it than the live music biz.

WE MISS LIVE MUSIC AND SHARING IT WITH FANS!!

So we are going to delve into the Listening Through The Lens deep archives and re-live some better moments.

A Double Bill – Michael Hurley and Darren Hanlon

American singer/songwriter Michael Hurley was part of the Greenwich Village folk scene of the 1960’s and 1970’s. He plays a variety of instruments including guitar, fiddle, banjo and is also a cartoonist and painter. He has collaborated with the band Holy Modal Rounders. This was only his second Australian tour and the first visit to Tasmania.

Originally from Queensland, Australian singer/songwriter Darren Hanlon has moved from several band appearances and collaborations (including with Mick Thomas) to a successful solo recording and live career since 2000. A feature of his shows are his home-spun and down-to-earth engagement with audiences.
