# 6 Lloyd Cole Live

Introduction

Yes folks, the world is in a place in 2020 that no-one would have believed.

Other than the pages of a fictional book where a-pandemic-attacks-the-world-forcing-us-to-be-in-lockdown-shutting-our-borders-and-generally-feeling-jittery, how did this predicament happen so quickly and decisively??

It is hard to think of an industry which is more adversely affected and can least afford it than the live music biz.

WE MISS LIVE MUSIC AND SHARING IT WITH FANS!!

So we are going to delve into the Listening Through The Lens deep archives and re-live some better moments.

Red Hot Music, a musical instruments shop in Devonport Tasmania (an hour’s drive for me) closed its doors in 2017, falling victim to a shift from analogue to digital music and an increase in supplier-direct internet sales.

The good days included a noteworthy Lloyd Cole (he of the Commotions) show on 6 July 2014. His most recent album at the time of this leg of his Australian tour was Standards (2103). Here are some of my images.

Read about Lloyd Cole’s latest album Guesswork released July 2019 on the earMUSIC record label HERE. Recorded (mostly) in his attic studio in Massachusetts, Guesswork was produced by Lloyd and mixed by maverick German producer Olaf Opal, with executive production from Chris Hughes. That release reunited Lloyd with the talents of The Commotions bandmates Blair Cowan and Neil Clark.
