We lap up the final day of the AmericanaFest

AmericanaFest 2019
Day 6 – The Final Offerings
GrassRoots Music Tour

Fast becoming the place to be on day last – J.P. Harris‘ Sunday Morning Coming Down. Featuring performances from JD McPherson’s Mid Tenn Three, Molly Tuttle, John R. Miller & The Engine Lights, Brandy Zdan, and JP Harris’ Why Don’t We Duet In The Road feat. Leigh Nash, Kelsey Waldon, Kristina Murray, Malin Pettersen, Miss Tess, Erin Rae and more.
As well, there was a photography exhibition, musical interludes, a vintage market curated by singer Nikki Lane and JP’s gumbo.
John R Miller & The Engine Lights

Highly recommended. John R. Miller began playing and writing music while growing up in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia, an area along the Potomac River. He has performed across the US, Canada, Ireland, the UK, Japan, and Europe, made several appearances on NPR’s Mountain Stage with Larry Groce and his song “Coming Down” was performed by Tyler Childers on his album Live at Red Barn I & II.
Today, with his band the Engine Lights, the music was compelling – slow and laconic country blues and rock with lyrics that bite. Most of the songs performed today are coming from his yet-to-be-released album, a folow-up to The Trouble You Follow, which was issued in 2018 via Lexington, KY’s Emperor Records.
JD McPersons Mid Tenn Three

Never disappoints. JD McPherson (guitar), Jimmy Sutton (bass) and Jason Smay (drums) powered through a selection of roll n roll and rockabilly numbers. Featured were tunes from Ray Parkes and Charlie Feathers, Carl Perkins and Dale Hawkins – Chuck Mead did a guest spot.
JP Harris and Friends

Plenty of love and fine music on the stage with JP Harris duetting with Leah Nash, Kelsey Waldon, Kristina Murray, Miss Tess, Molly Tuttle, Nicki Lane, Erin Rae and Malin Pettersen.
Official Showcases with Leah Blevins and Brandy Clark closed out the festival.
