We Go On The Road

We prepare for a month’s music in the US South

Yes folks, our bags are packed and we are poised to have a wonderful month of music – festivals and other live shows, behind-the-scenes visits to music heritage sites, straddling Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky, Georgia and maybe more.

The GrassRoots Music Tour will be rolling along the highways and the backroads for three weeks and we will be doing some extra things on top of that as well. Our eyes, pens, devices and camera gear will be recording it all as we go and will appear on this site as soon as we can manage it.

The itinerary will include festivals (AmericanaFest, Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion, Rockweave and the Leftover Salmon Jam), paying homage to some music icons (Bill Monroe, Loretta Lynn, Ralph Stanley, the Bluegrass Hall Of Fame, Sam Bush, The Carter Family), live shows, interviews, radio programs, the Americana Honors and Awards and some serious music memorabilia sites.

First stop will be Nashville where the six-day Americana Festival and Conference kicks off with some action-packed Official Showcases, panel sessions, industry shindigs – morning, afternoon and night sessions, around 500 performances in total. It will be our seventh AmericanaFest.

Hope you follow our travels

Jim and Rob
