The Port Fairy Folk Festival has announced its first round of artists for 2020 just before subscriber tickets go on sale. The festival, in its 44th year, will be on March 6 to 9, 2020.

For the first time The Blind Boys of Alabama and Patty Griffin (from the USA) will appear (Griffin was announced in the past but withrew due to health reasons).

Also on the Bill is C.W. Stoneking (Australia), Eleanor McEvoy (Ireland), John McCutcheon (USA), The Maes (Australia) and Yolanda Brown (England).

Also, the Find Your Voice All Abilities Choir will return in 2020 after receiving a swag of local accolades, including a prestigious Victorian Disability Award. 

According to organisers:

“The 2020 Festival will exemplify the great folk/roots traditions of many cultures, regions, communities and countries – from Ireland to Port Fairy, Johannesburg to New Orleans, Prince Edward Island to Northcote, Celtic to Bluegrass, Indigenous to Latin and glorious folk fusions. 2020 will once again be a splendid mix of brilliant music, great conversations, workshops, collaborations and surprises.”
