Americana singer/songwriter Mark Webb Jr has just released a single “Then You Find Love” which is the second song to be lifted from his forthcoming album (yet to be titled) set to be released in the USA Spring 2019.  Mark wrote “Then You Find Love” almost thirteen years ago but decided at the last minute to record the song for the new album.  Here it is:

The first single (below) was “You To Me” which has received over 68,000 Spotify streams since its debut on April 20 this year:

Mark Webb Jr has an interesting back story – both parents being Ministers in his home town of Greenville South Carolina.  Now Greenville is not known as a music hub of itself, but has the advantage of close proximity to places that are – Asheville NC, Atlanta GA and Woodruff SC.

He got his start playing the local coffee shop scene and continued to tour southeast USA evolving and enriching his sound.  So much so that he now has shared the stage with performers such as Ted Russell Kamp (Shooter Jennings), Justin Townes Earle, American Aquarium, Turnpike Troubadours, and Jill Andrews.  He’s also had the pleasure of co-writing with Kamp and Dashboard Confessional’s Chris Carrabba.  The latter collaborative track was released on Dashboard’s newest album Crooked Shadows.  He also made Listening Through The Lens list of “Rookies on the Rise” for 2016.

Webb signed with the edgy and fiercely independent record label based out of Bristol VA/TN, Gold Ship Records and released an impressive EP Home a while back.  The five-song release was a collection of Americana and folk material with a little bit of country.  The EP was produced by Brad Phillips, with whom Webb has worked previously – their’s is a close and fruitful relationship.

Founder of Gold Ship Records (Andrew Sergent):

At Gold Ship we value originality and drive over all else. Our roster of artists ride the genre lines and encompass a vast range of styles.

Here our goal is to build the artists as individuals and as a family so that they have the tools they need to thrive and garner the attention they deserve.

With the years of being in the industry we understand the flaws of the past and  current system.

The idea of a label being a glorified bank has been wrong. It has hindered artists growth due to debt and stopped the development of their craft.

We are not and will never be a typical record label
