The Mae Trio
Melbourne, Australia’s The Mae Trio have just released (May 26) the impressive Take Care Take Cover which highlights soaring harmonies and sharp story-telling.
The trio (Maggie Rigby, sister Elsie Rigby and Anita Hillman) traveled to Nashville Tennessee to record with producer and engineer Erick Jaskowiak (Crooked Still, Tim O’Brien, Darrell Scott, The Waifs). ‘Well Enough Alone’ is the first track to be taken from the album. The Mae Trio will be touring the US and Canada this June through to August.
Randall Bramblett
Esteemed Georgian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Randall Bramblett is releasing his eleventh studio album Juke Joint on July 7 2017 (via New West Records).
Revealing the first single ‘I Just Don’t Have the Time’, the song is available via all major digital outlets. Inspired by a story Bramblett heard years ago about a famous Nashville producer who was being badgered by an up-and-coming musician, he recalls:
“His snarky put down stayed with me all those years and finally made it into a song. I threw in some of my own boring conversation about rehab and the Large Hadron Collider (the world’s largest and most powerful particle collider).” Adding, “This song always breaks people up when I play it live. Maybe they identify.”
The Steel Wheels
Hailing from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, The Steel Wheels are familiar with the traditions of folk music and string bands. The second video from the band’s new album, Wild As We Came shows the band’s forward progression and stretching traditions by producing a vibrant and exciting sound.
