The Weeping Willows
Pozible Crowd funding campaign
The Weeping Willows are a Melbourne Australia-based duo, comprising Laura Coates and Andrew Wrigglesworth. The pair’s style combines Americana/country/folk and deftly blend strong storytelling, well-crafted harmonies and excellent playing. The Willows have launched a Pozible crowd funding campaign to help raise funds towards recording their next album in Los Angeles, California.
The Weeping Willows will be working with Ryan Freeland, a four-time Grammy-winning recording engineer and producer whose credits include Hugh Laurie, Bonnie Raitt, Loudon Wainwright III, The Carolina Chocolate Drops, The Milk Carton Kids, Justin Townes Earle, Ray LaMontagne, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott and more. The pair will travel to LA in September to record in Ryan’s home studio Stampede Origin with top-session musicians.
Since releasing their debut album Till The North Wind Blows in December 2012, The Weeping Willows have been touring extensively, playing at various folk and country music festivals around Australia and at the Americana Music Festival in Nashville in 2013 and 2014. All these experiences have inspired an album’s worth of new songs that they want to share. The Weeping Willows hope to raise enough money through their Pozible crowd-funding project to cover one-third of the album’s budget. Supporters have the chance to be a part of this album by pledging financial support through www.pozible.com. Rewards include a signed copy of the album, a thank you in the album credits, guitar lessons with Andrew Wrigglesworth, House Concerts and more.
The crowd-funding campaign will run from May 10th-July 10th, for more information visit: www.pozible.com/theweepingwillows. The Weeping Willows will be promoting their Pozible campaign during their Tuesdays in May residency at The Yarra Hotel in Abbotsford, Victoria and throughout a regional tour with Bill Chambers in June.
