My final day of the five-week 2013 music sojourn in the USA
Thursday
Yesterday was extremely restful. I did a review of the trip’s gigs (this took a while), some washing and a long walk through a number of Amador County wineries. Jenny checked out some alpacas while I became a packer.
A delicious meal with a lovely Amador syrah and bed.
Friday
Today up early and packed the car, said farewell to our wonderful hosts Bronwyn and David. About a seven hour drive to LAX.
On the way, we stopped at Lodi for breakfast with our friends Colleen and Bryant, who we’d met at Americanafest last month (and Fairport’s Cropredy Convention last year).
Then down the I-99, the road with the most trucks you have ever seen – here are some in the photo waiting for us to get going after lunch so they could escort us further (note the Trucker’s Chapel to the right).
A quick stop at Bakersfield on the way then straight to LAX for a midnight flight.
Saturday
The International Date Line has just informed us that there will be no Saturday this week.
Sunday
Home.
