Tuesday was a day filled with retail therapy.
After coffee at Dominican Joe’s, the four of us arrived at Sheplers Western World or, should I say, where it used to be. The store has moved to a new location, part of a budget shopping plaza further up the I-35.
A successful visit at Sheplers included me buying a new suitcase at Ross’s which looks the right size compared with the one I’ve taken on the journey which is on its last wheels.
We then attempted to find another shopping outlet without success – the GPS was having an episode.
Shopping outlet # 3 was not without its challenges to discover but it was finally found and some utility reaped.
Outside one store you can see some gearing up for Halloween at the end of the month.
We made our way back to the Austin Motel.
Jenny and Trish had a dip in the pool and then wandered down to the nearby Colorado River to see the bats emerge from under the bridge at dusk.
Sandra, Richard and I sat on the terrace outside our room and had a very pleasant time, nibbling, drinking, mixing with neighbours, discussing musical highlights of the trip to date and predicting who we will be seeing at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass in San Francisco.
By the time the two girls returned, we decided on not going to The Continental but instead having a meal at The Magnolia Cafe.
Then back to the hotel.
