Our list has the following new additions this week – Rayland Baxter, The Mallett Brothers, Lori McKenna, Jason Boland & The Stragglers, Lydia Luce, Martha Reich, Pearl Aday, Cliff Westfall, Indigo Girls, Mikaela Davis, David Davis & The Warrior River Boys.   Gretchen Peters’ new album Dancing With The Beast is our top rater this week – fiery songwriting reflecting these troubled times, nuanced vocals and hauntingly beautiful arrangements.  Read More HERE.

The updated list shows albums recently made available and those in the pipeline, now stretching to September 2018 – album cover, artist, title and release date, with the last category in chronological order for your viewing ease.  Where we have written more detail about a particular collection or have reviewed it prior to, or after, its public issue, you can click on the album title and you will be magically transported to the relevant article.

If you click on just about every album cover, you will go the Amazon purchase page – in case that is your preferred method of acquisition.

Some album covers have not been made available yet.  We’ll keep on checking back and including them as soon as we can.

Listings should roughly fall into the roots music category (as widely defined as you like) and only full collections – we do not want to clog up this space with EPs and singles.

With each update we include a header and feature image from our own Jim Jacob.  The picture may have something to do with the new material, or just chosen at random.  In the latter case, they will be mostly ones we haven’t used before from our extensive live music image archive.  This week on the header is New Orleans piano legend Jon Cleary.   The featured image is of blues singer-songwriter Owen Campbell.
