Women in String Bands CD Project

As you may have read in our interview a few days back with Kimberley Wheeler, the President of The Australasian Bluegrass and Old Time Music Association (ABOTMA), the organisation is looking to produce a CD showcasing women in string bands.

ABOTMA has received a grant from Folk Alliance Australia to produce this promotional CD to be sent to radio stations, magazines, other media and event organisers.  This project is aimed to encourage and promote women participants in string band music: to highlight the abilities, contribution and achievements of existing female participants; and to foster connection between musicians and encourage women to step up. You can get more information and submit your work for inclusion HERE.
