WHITNEY ROSE RELEASES NEW SONG

“MY BOOTS” IN ADVANCE OF AMERICANAFEST

#RoadToAmericanaFest

This year, Canada’s Whitney Rose’s road to AmericanaFest starts in Travis County, Texas, where Rose has settled and recorded a new, fun song ‘My Boots’ that speaks to self-acceptance.

‘My Boots’ shows the lighter side of Rose’s songwriting. “While it’s ostensibly just about wearing whatever the hell you wanna wear,” Rose says, “it’s also about embracing the quirks and flaws that make you, you.”

Rose walks the walk in her custom cactus and rose Liberty cowboy boots, a sparkly nod to her identity.  Both are fitting symbols – Rose is no wilting flower, and ‘My Boots’ contains a barbed message about intolerance and autonomy.

Rose created a buzz at her AmericanaFest debut last year (I was a witness to one of her impressive performances), and this new song shows the emerging talent has not been resting on any laurels since.  The song is the first new music since Heartbreaker of the Year, an album that put Whitney on the Americana map.

‘My Boots’ features country music royalty, the brilliant Redd Volkaert (Merle Haggard and Heybale) and Earl Poole Ball (Johnny Cash) trading solos over the Waylon-esque groove.
