When One Music Cruise Will Not Suffice

We will cover not one, but two music cruises in two weeks

Some of you may have read my review of Cayamo Sessions At Sea with Buddy Miller and friends a while back.

The Cayamo cruise has been a regular and revered music event for a number of my good music friends.  Cayamo Sessions the album was released early this year and contains some beautiful moments of past cruise performances inspired and managed by Miller.  Sailing next February on its tenth annual voyage (this time out of Tampa FL), it is again a sellout but thanks to friends Colleen and Bryant we have scored a berth.

The initial line-up is excellent:

When we heard that the Outlaw Country Cruise starts the same day as Cayamo ends, from the same city, on the same boat, it was too much to resist.  Booking made and we have managed to get almost the same cabin in fact for Cruise II.

The Outlaw Country Cruise is themed on satellite radio’s Sirius XM station Outlaw Country and features, in this its second event, some heavy-hitters in just the first announcement:

Blackberry Smoke

The Mavericks

Lucinda Williams

Steve Earle & The Dukes

Jessi Colter

Shooter Jennings and Waymore’s Outlaws

Joe Ely Band

Carlene Carter

Chris Knight

Dale Watson & His Lone Stars

Ray Benson

Old 97’s

Elizabeth Cook

Jim Lauderdale

Drivin’ n Cryin’

The Secret Sisters

Supersuckers

Bottle Rockets

The Mastersons

Jesse Dayton

HeyBale!

Dallas Wayne

Roger Alan Wade

Mojo Nixon

I’m thinking there won’t be a lot of time to go the ship’s gym…

  1. It sure is. I am particularly looking forward to seeing Ol’ 97s and Joe Ely again and finally catching Bottle Rockets, Chris Knight and The Mavericks for a full set for the first time. Have you ever been on one of these cruises?
