 Liam Gerner –

‘Hank and Tammy’ (based on a true story…)

The new single from Liam’s New Album

– Land Of No Roads

“Liam is an extraordinary musician. Both as a songwriter and performer Liam is a force to be reckoned with.” – Ryan Bingham

“So many elderly people are stricken by poverty and this song is about one such couple who attempted a very risky retirement scheme. While traveling in the USA I was told this true story of a couple who felt they had no other choice but to become drug mules to earn a living. They were eventually caught smuggling drugs in their Winnebago in Anuhuac, Texas and are now serving 20 years in prison. The story was told to me by the actual Texas judge who had to lock them up, my mate’s dad, Judge Carol Wilburn.” -Liam Gerner

In support of his new album Land Of No Roads, singer songwriter Liam Gerner has announced he will hit the road in July and August 2014 for four special dates on what will be billed as the ‘Hank and Tammy Tour’.

Land of No Road, recorded at Rick Rubin’s studio Shangri La over three days and produced by Rubin’s engineer Eric Lynn, was greeted with praise and acclaim when it was released in November 2013.

As a songwriter is it clear that what drives Liam is storytelling.  “Several of the songs on Land Of No Roads are true stories that I found while touring.  Stories, which resonated with me.”  “Hank and Tammy” is one such song.

The track features guest vocals by songwriter Robbie Fulks, the Cajun accordion master Steve Riley (Mamou Playboys, Lil’ Band O’ Gold), Australia’s very own Lucky Oceans on dobro, and a great rhythm section of Eric Lynn on keys, Victor Indrizzo on drums and Sean Hurley on bass.
